About Fiber Cement

Fiber cement siding is another durable, low-maintenance siding alternative that provides the beauty of wood without many of fiber cement pic 1the hassles associated with wood siding. Fiber cement products are also fire resistant and most of the products offer a limited transferable warranty for up to 50 years. Although relatively new to the market, it is becoming a popular product in commercial and residential applications. It is installed in the same manner as wood siding and is more expensive than vinyl due to material and labor costs associated with the installation.

Like vinyl, fiber cement is available in numerous profiles including lap, shake, scallops and panels. Soffit, fascia, frieze and ceilings can also be done in fiber cement. Fiber cement is available primed, or prefinished (pre-painted). The pre-finished products do offer a warranty on the finish.
